Concept2, the leading manufacturer of racing oars and rowing machines, recently launched the Concept2 SkiErg. Similar to the Concept2 Indoor Rower, the Concept2 SkiErg helps athletes build strength and endurance in a sport-specific motion, offering Nordic skiers a new way to train without snow.
The included ergometer (or “erg”), a device that measures work, is what sets the SkiErg apart from other Nordic ski machines. The erg allows you to accurately assess your output, monitor your progress, and compare your scores with others using the Concept2 Performance Monitor.
“The launch of the SkiErg is exciting,” says Concept2 founder Peter Dreissigacker, “because it gives skiers the tools that rowers have had for years – a way to test their fitness in a way that is not impacted by terrain or snow conditions.”
