Fashion House Kellwood Acquires ISIS

Isis acquired by Kellwood Kellwood acquires Isis

Fashion house Kellwood announced yesterday that their subdivision American Recreation Products has acquired women's performance wear company ISIS. This news coincides with the announcement last week from Poppy Gall, co-founder of ISIS, that she will leave and start her own full service design studio. The details of the ISIS acquisition were undisclosed.

Owned by Private Equity house Sun Capital Partners, Kellwood designs, manufacturers and markets a growing collection of fashion brands across a wide range of consumer lifestyles. ISIS will now be joining other American Recreation Products brands such as Sierra Designs, Kelty and Royal Robbins.

Since its founding in 1998, ISIS has grown consistently, building a sizeable retailer network and establishing substantial market presence. Blending distinctive feminine fashion with cutting edge technological features, ISIS's design philosophy clearly differentiates the brand among global outdoor companies. Moving forward, the Company plans to continue to aggressively expand its distribution channels and drive revenue through additional specialty dealers and its on-line business.

"In an otherwise challenging retail and fashion marketplace, ISIS continues to perform well, with solid operations, a loyal customer base, and a track record of growth," said Michael W. Kramer, President and CEO of Kellwood. "We look forward to working with the Company's experienced and capable management team to continue to build the business, with the goal of doubling its sales over the next four years."
