Parent company Cascade Designs has come up with two new Therm-a-Rest products for Spring 2011, the Trekker version of the popular
NeoAir air mattress
and the Alpine Down Blanket. These two new products are meant to help you experience more comfort during your backcountry adventures.
The Therm-a-Rest Alpine Down Blanket is similar to the company's
Ventra Down Blanket
but over 300 g lighter and even warmer. The Alpine Down Blanket snaps directly to your mattress via the
Therm-a-Rest Fitted Sheet or
Mattress Snap Kit. The down blanket eliminates the wasted down fabric underneath you that provides little additional warmth and gives you the added benefits of space, lighter weight and unrestricted freedom of movement.
This 3-season, box baffled 700-fill down blanket weighs only 624 g and is rated to 2ºC. The Alpine Down Blanket is zipper-free for easy entry and compress down into a small package. Draft collars and a foot box construction keep the cold air out at night.
The NeoAir Trekker is a durable and silent 3-season air mattress. This new NeoAir mattress features the same stability and unique Triangular Core Matrix internal truss design as the original. A new durable, yet supple fabric cuts down on any puncture issues.
The NeoAir Trekker weighs 1 lb 3 oz or 540 g for the Regular size, so roughly 130 g heavier than the
NeoAir. With an R-value of 2.0, the NeoAir Trekker is part of Therm-a-Rest's Trek & Travel series versus their Fast & Light.
The Therm-a-Rest Alpine Down Blanket coupled with the NeoAir Trekker will offer you a warm, light and comfortable backcountry sleeping system for next season.
