Looxcie Wearable Camcorder In A Bluetooth Headset

Looxcie Wearable Camcorder

Think normal helmet cameras are too bulky and hard to attach? Want to upload your videos instantly to share with all your friends? Well meet the Looxcie wearable camcorder which doubles as a bluetooth headset for hands-free talking on your cell phone.

The Looxcie wearable camcorder fits on your ear just like a wireless headset and works in conjunction with your smartphone. While turned on, the Looxcie is always recording and stores up to 5 hours of continuous video. Once the memory is full, the camera simply starts to purge your oldest videos.

Ever experience one of those moments where you wish you had the camera running? The Looxcie lets you capture these moments after the fact. Similar to how your DVR works at home, you can simply press capture and the last 30 seconds of what happened are saved as a video clip.

The Looxcie smartphone app lets you view the live video stream, make new clips from stored video, edit and share your clips. The iPhone does not seem to be supported yet but the company says that more operating systems will be coming this Fall. If you don't have a smartphone, you can upload your video and clips to your computer via a USB connection.

Since the Looxcie is also a bluetooth headset, you can make and receive calls while recording video. The wearable camcorder will not record any audio while you are on the phone to ensure your calls stay private. With HVGA 480×320 resolution, the Looxcie video quality won't compare to that from your GoPro HD Helmet Hero but will be comparable to video taken with your smartphone camera.

The Looxcie wearable camcorder costs $199 and is available to order from Amazon.
