GoPro Helmet Cams Go 3D

GoPro HD 3D

If you think GoPro helmet cam videos are exciting, imagine how amazing they will be in 3D. GoPro is getting ready to launch their 3D HERO Expansion Kit that will allow you to combine two 1080p HD HERO cameras in order to shoot full 1080p 3D video.

The 3D HERO Expansion Kit combines two HD HERO helmet cams in one housing. The two helmet cams are connected via a synchronization cable plugged into the Bus Port, enabling them to synchronize left eye and right eye views with no drift.

With two HD HERO helmet cams, you now have the option to capture multiple angles at once using both as individual cameras or combine them to shoot 3D video. Imagine how cool some of Steph Davis' base jumping or climbing videos would be in 3D.

The GoPro 3D HERO Expansion Kit will cost $90 and start shipping imminently. With the expansion kit and the price of two HD HERO helmet cams for roughly $360, you get a cheap and versatile 3D camera. Never mind that you will still need a 3D monitor or 3D TV, 3D glasses and 3D video editing software to actually publish and watch your videos!
