New Sidecountry Hydration Packs From CamelBak

CamelBak Ante Sidecountry Hydration Pack

For those of you that normally head to the ski resort but like to venture out of bounds once in awhile, CamelBak is introducing a sidecountry hydration pack just for you. A more streamlined version of the backcountry specific Roulette and Pit Boss, these new sidecountry hydration packs have a 40 percent lower profile to ensure you will be comfortable both skiing and sitting on the chairlift.

For 2011, CamelBak has redesigned all of their hydration packs to fit the new Antidote reservoir, the Tycoon (men) and Ante (women) sidecountry packs included. With an insulated harness to keep water from freezing in the tube, CamelBak has made it much easier to access and store your reservoir's Big Bite Valve.

The Tycoon and Ante sidecountry hydration packs both feature new glove friendly zippers and stowable carrying straps for your skis (diagonal) or snowboard (horizontal or vertical). The Tycoon can hold up to 1,125 cubic inches of extra gear and the Ante 1,000 cubic inches. The Ante was designed with a curved shoulder harness and shorter torso length to better fit the female form.

A side access, drop out pocket lets you quickly get at your probe without having to open up your pack. Inside, a fleece lined pocket is great for stowing your glasses or goggles and a zippered essentials pocket for storing your wallet and keys. One thing I would love to see more of in winter packs is the snowshed back panel which keeps you dry even after throwing your pack down in the snow.

The CamelBak Tycoon and Ante sidecountry hydration packs weigh only 2.1-2.2 lbs and come with a 100 oz. Antidote reservoir. The packs will be available starting October 2011 and retail for $100.
