Chacos, Not Just For Summer Anymore

Chaco Winter Collection

All you Chaco lovers rejoice, you can now wear your Chacos year round. The footwear company has taken their cult worthy footbed and added a full boot upper to protect your feet from the nastiest of winter weather.

Just like your favorite sandals, the new winter collection features Chaco's ADDSTRIDE technology footbed for arch support and alignment. The winter boots and shoes are constructed out of a mix of water repellent and waterproof uppers, full grain leather, shearling or wool liners, and aggressive tread Vibram outsoles.

My favorite style has to be the Credence Tall, a mid calf women's boot and a rancher style men's boot. Made with water resistant full grain leather, the boot features a pigskin sock liner and Vibram Burly outsoles. The Credence also comes in a Wool (wool liner) and Baa (shearling liner) version for added winter warmth.

The more funky women's Belyn Baa has a colorful, water resistant, full grain suede upper, shearling lining and a printed leather toecap. You can wear this boot fully laced up or folded down to reveal the shearling liner for a little added style.

The Chaco winter collection will be eligible for the ReChaco resoling program where a skilled team will repair your Chacos in under 5 business days. If you are missing your boots while they are gone, the Customer Service team will send you a progress report and photo of your boots to tide you over.

The new Chaco winter collection will be in stores starting August 2011.

  1. I’m a hardcore Chaco fan, but I have to say that I’m not that crazy about the more recent products they’re offering.

Their line of sneakers/hiking shoes was great, but was inexplicably discontinued, and some of the latest styles are clearly aimed at city-dwellers who are probably not going to wear the shoes to hike.

I’ll give the Belyn Baa a try when I eventually see them in stores, but I’m not rushing out to get them…I’m too busy buying up old stock of Chaco sneakers in my size before they’re gone forever.
