La Sportiva Races Into Ski Mountaineering

La Sportiva Ski Mountaineering

Following on this winter's North American release of the ultra lightweight RT touring binding, La Sportiva is now looking to become your one stop shop for all things ski mountaineering. Next winter, La Sportiva will release a full line of ski mountaineering boots, skis and accessories.

For the serious ski mountaineering racer, La Sportiva created the high-end carbon fiber Stratos boots ($3000) or the crossover Spitfire ($1500) with Grilamid shell and carbon fiber cuff. The equally high-end RSR carbon fiber racing skis (97-65-77 $1200) will complement your high-tech boots.

La Sportiva Starlet AT boots and GTS skis

For the everyday ski mountaineer, La Sportiva created the Sideral ($800) boots for men and Starlet boots for women. Two corresponding skis are the multi-purpose mountaineer RST (116-77-106 $579) and the one ski quiver GT for men and GTS for women (123-89-111 $629).

Released last December, La Sportiva's RT bindings are some of the lightest in the world at just 175 grams. The toe release adjustment system features a release value equivalent to 5-10 DIN , with two release adjustments, frontal and lateral, in the heel. An integrated crampon attachment and 3-position heel riser add to the functionality.

Accessories such as the HiGlide Precut Skins and RSR Race Skins round out the La Sportiva collection. To support the product side, La Sportiva has launched a blog, The White Room, for you to read up on all things ski mountaineering.
