For 2012, Therm-a-Rest has added three new designs to their popular NeoAir camping pad collection. For winter camping, the NeoAir XTherm will help keep you warm, while the ultralight enthusiasts will be excited about the über lightweight NeoAir XLite in both a men's and women's version.
The NeoAir XTherm is a true cold weather camping pad, the warmest yet in the NeoAir collection with an R-Value of 5.7. Using multiple layers of Therm-a-Rest's Reflective Barrier technology, convective heat loss is reduced and your own body heat is reflected back at you to help keep you warm.
The internal Triangular Core Matrix design traps pockets of warm air and provides a stable platform for sleeping. A new tapered design makes it easier to compress your camping pad into a smaller package and cuts outs unnecessary weight. At only 430 grams (15 ounces), the NeoAir XTherm is one of the lightest cold weather camping pads around.
Almost 15% lighter (350 g or 12 oz) than the current NeoAir camping pad, the NeoAir XLite is also warmer (R-Value 3.2). The XLite features the same new tapered design as the XTherm, a single Reflective Barrier layer, and interior Triangular Core Matrix construction. The women's specific model adds an additional Reflective Barrier layer for extra warmth (R-Value 3.9) and comes with a printed fabric design.
Therm-a-Rest has also created some useful new accessories for your NeoAir camping pads. The Jembe Seat Kit ($49.95) coverts your NeoAir mattress into an 18-inch high seat you can use at camp. The Deluxe version includes a closed foam cell disc on top for added comfort and warmth.
The new Therm-a-Rest NeoAir camping pads will be available starting January 2012. The NeoAir XTherm will retail for $149.95 (S) – $219.95 (L) and the two NeoAir XLite camping pads for $129.95 (S) – $179.95 (L).
