Sea To Summit Spark Ultra-Dry Down Sleeping Bag

Sea To Summit Spark Sleeping Bag

Filled with 850+ loft Ultra-Dry Down and packing down to the size of a grapefruit, the new Sea to Summit Spark ups the game for minimalist sleeping bags. With one of the best warmth to weight ratios out there, the Spark is sure to become a hit with thru hikers, adventure racers, and others of the fast and light set.

In addition to the premium quality, water resistant 850+ Ultra-Dry Down filling supplied from Downtek, the Spark uses a micro-weight 10D Pertex Quantum shell fabric treated with DWR and 15D nylon soft touch liner. The shell, lining, zipper, and all other components weigh less than the down filling itself- 6.0 oz. vs 6.3 oz. of down. This puts the sleeping bag weight at only 12.3 oz., making it the lightest on the North American market.

The Spark has a EN rating of 54°F for comfort and 46°F at the lower limit. The European Norm (EN) 13537 testing protocol is gradually being adopted by many US sleeping bag manufacturers in order to offer more reliable temperature ratings for their sleeping bags.

EN testing is performed by internationally certified laboratories to ensure sleeping bags are subject to standardized tests, producing ratings you can trust and actually compare between brands. Usually including both a men's and a women's version, the EN ratings are based on you sleeping in a base layer and a hat, with an insulated pad between you and the ground.

The Sea to Summit Spark comes in two sizes: Regular ($269) and Long ($289). Shipping September 2013, the dry down sleeping bag packages include a storage cube, compression sac, and cotton wash bag complete with care instructions.
