In honor of Earth Day at the end of this month, The GearCaster has partnered with some of your favorite outdoor brands to reward you for getting outdoors and helping clean up your local open spaces. In conjunction with the annual Geocaching Cache In Trash Out weekend (April 20-22), we are holding the Great GearCaster Geocaching Gear Giveaway, hiding caches all across the USA, with big gear prize packages for those of you who find them first.
Brands already on board for the GearCaster's Cache In Trash Out Weekend event are Innate, along with a handful of their retailers, Columbia Sportswear, GU Energy, Injinji, Moji, Hydrapak, and RoadID, with many more to come. Over the next couple of weeks, we will be hiding Travel Bugs and new caches in many areas right across the nation. Each Travel Bug will be tied to a specific prize package loaded with awesome outdoor gear.
Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources. The 11th Annual Cache In Trash Out Weekend is scheduled for April 20-22, 2013.
Over the coming weeks, keep checking back here as we announce the general areas for the hidden Travel Bugs and associated caches, as well showcasing some of the great gear you can win. First thing on the morning of April 20th, we will publish a detailed list of all the caches to be found that weekend. Be the first to find the cache and its associated Travel Bug, register your find on Geocaching.com, and the gear prize package is yours.
All we ask in return is that you bring a trash bag or two with you in order to pick up any garbage you see while you are out geocaching. Share the photos of all your collected trash over on The GearCaster Facebook page.
So dust off that GPS, load up on trash bags, and get ready to get outdoors and win some great gear!
