Therm-a-Rest Expands SpeedValve Line

Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite SV

Last week, Therm-a-Rest announced the expansion of the NeoAir SpeedValve sleeping pad line. Joining the original NeoAir Camper SV, the new 3-season NeoAir Trekker SV and NeoAir XLite MAX SV deliver quicker and easier setup to everyone from car campers to backpacking and touring enthusiasts, as well as the ultralight ounce counters.

Therm-a-Rest’s patent pending NeoAir SpeedValve technology inflates mattresses up to three times faster than traditional valves in similarly sized mattresses and deflates almost instantaneously. The specially designed valve works off of Bernoulli’s Principle of fluid dynamics to fill the NeoAir mattress with more air than your breath alone–when you blow into the valve from several inches away, your breath sends fast-moving, low-pressure air through the neck of the mattress, causing the static, high-pressure air outside the mattress to rush in to equalize the pressure.

Each mattress combines NeoAir construction with layers of ThermaCapture reflective technology for ultimate comfort, stability and warmth. The current NeoAir Camper SV is a 3-inch mattress with R-value of 2.2 and weight of 2 pounds 5 ounces to 2 pounds 13 ounces depending on size.

The 2.5-inch NeoAir Trekker SC weighs 1 pound 8 ounces or 2 pounds and delivers an R-value of 3. Finally, the ultra-packable 2.5-inch NeoAir XLite MAX SV weighs from just 1 pound to 1 pound 5 ounces and has an R-value of 3.2

The NeoAir Trekker SV ($130-$150) and NeoAir XLite MAX SV ($160-$180) are available exclusively at REI for the moment. The NeoAir Camper SV ($140-$170) is currently available REI and will be available worldwide in April. All three models include a stuff sack and repair kit.
