Outdoor Camp For Grown-ups — And Teenagers, Too!

CamelBak Pursuit

If all you guys were jealous of the Outessa women’s weekends last summer, here’s your chance. For this new everyone-is-welcome event series, The Outbound Collective and Eventus Outdoors teamed up with lead sponsor CamelBak to hold two 3-day events this summer — one in Utah and one in California.

Julia Stamps Mallon, the power woman behind the launch of Outessa sponsored by REI last summer, is now behind the new CamelBak Pursuit Series. The format looks extremely similar and I can assure anyone who attends that you will have a whole load of fun.

At each CamelBak Pursuit Series event, you get to play hard, have fun, and learn a bunch of new outdoor skills while hanging out with hundreds of your new best friends. The two locations are set just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah at Snowbasin Mountain Resort (August 11-13) and San Francisco, CA at Sanborn County Park (September 8-10).

Experts and athletes from title sponsor CamelBak, and other top industry brands will be on hand as instructors, mentors, and inspiration, ensuring you have the best experience. Over the course of the three-day event, you get to choose from 300 activities and courses to create your personal schedule for the day. Classes include things such as Learn to SUPIntro to Backpacking, Mountain Bike Skills, and Campfire Cooking — there is something available for all skill levels and all ages.

A few tips: leave yourself some free time each day to just chill; don’t be afraid to switch courses — the app makes it super easy to do; and by all means don’t fill up your schedule with activities you already know how to do well — this is your chance to learn a brand new skill in a totally safe, supportive, and fun environment.  You can camp or even glamp on site if you wish and there are a variety of food and drink options.

One of the coolest things at Outessa last summer was seeing moms and daughters coming to the event together. I would encourage families to do the same with the CamelBak Pursuits Series.

Tickets went on sale for both events yesterday ($399-$499 for a three-day pass) and can be purchased online from the CamelBak Pursuit Series website. You’ll also find more information and the full schedule for the two locations.
