Kammok Launches All-In-One Hammock System

Kammok Mantis

Sure to be a hit with thru hikers, the new Mantis from Kammok is an all-in-one hammock system that is super quick and easy to set up thanks to a completely knotless suspension system. Including everything you need for four season use and in all kinds of weather conditions, the Mantis offers a great alternative for those that may not want to sleep on the ground.

The new Mantis all-in-one hammock system includes a breathable hammock body made from 40 denier ripstop nylon, integrated insect net (mesh canopy), and lightweight rainfly. There are built-in pockets and a structural ridge line to keep what you need close at hand.

The Mantis weighs just under three pounds including everything and compresses down to a 8-inch by 6-inch package. Set up for hammock camping is quick: simply wrap the python straps around two trees 13 feet to 18 feet apart, and clip in. The hammock can hold up to 500 pounds so plenty of strength for you and your dog.

Kammok also created an ultralight version of the Mantis for those who are really looking to ditch weight. The Mantis Ultralight uses a 20 denier nylon ripstop fabric on the hammock body and fly, and Python 10 Ultralight straps that are constructed with SpiraLine, a high-molecular polyethylene fiber that weight for weight is 15 times stronger than steel.

The Mantis Ultralight weighs in a just over two pounds packaged weight and compresses down to a 6-inch by 6-inch size. The ultralight all-in-one hammock will hold up to 300 pounds so still plenty strong.

Kammok is running a Kickstarter campaign to take pre-orders for the Mantis and Mantis Ultralight. Currently for $185-$215, you can get your all-in-one hammock in time for thru hiking season in April.
