Last week, Gore announced that for Fall/Winter 2016, it will restructure into three distinct consumer textile brands while introducing new laminate technology at the same time. The overall Gore Fabrics umbrella will now include Gore-Tex, Gore Windstopper, and the new Gore Thermium–basically splitting into distinct Gore and Gore-Tex brands while venturing further outside the waterproof breathable world.
Last week, Gore announced they were allocating $15 million over the next five years towards research into eco-friendly alternatives to current DWR treatments. The goal is to deliver new solutions with an improved environmental profile while still providing the level of durability and performance expected from today’s DWR technologies.
