Klymit Expands Into Outerwear And Base Layers

Klymit Outerwear And Base Layers

Young Ogden company Klymit, makers of the Kinetic Vest, have now expanded into outerwear and base layers to support their core vest product. Klymit's NobleTek insulation technology uses flexible, airtight yet breathable chambers filled with argon gas instead of down or synthetic fabrics.

The new Klymit Kinetic Shell line is designed to partner with the Kinetic Vest to offer a more complete system of adjustable warmth and comfort. Each shell is equipped with a chest zipper pocket to let you reach the Kontrol Dial on the vest and a hidden pocket on the bottom of the jacket gives you access to the inflation hose where the Klymitizer gas re-filler connects.

Other thought out features of the shell are the shoulder scoops that support the pit zips to give you improved ventilating performance, cuffs with built in thumb holes, Recco avalanche reflectors and an audio port in the left arm pocket.

The outerwear line consists of 4 different shell varieties. The Olympus is made form waterproof polyester micro twill tri-bonded fabric with a SekoVent waterproof breathable membrane. It will retail for $225. The Paregoria, made from polyester spandex and brush tricott, will retail for $175.

My personal favorite is the Paregoria Stretch (shown above) made from breathable bamboo carbon and knitted polyester. The Stretch will retail for $185. Finally the Zephryos is similar to the Olympus but much lighter weight and will retail at $150.

The Klymit Kinetic Vest has proved to be so popular that the company is working overtime to fill all of their backorders.  In addition to the new outerwear line, Klymit has a line of moisture wicking base layers in the works and accessories to enhance the warmth of your sleeping pad. So keep your eye on Klymit, they are doing some cool things.
