Arc'teryx Alpha SV Glove With Tri-Dex Technology

Arc'teryx is introducing a new collection of high performance gloves and mitts featuring a patent-pending construction technology called Tri-Dex. Premium leather and Gore-Tex textiles, together with the advanced shaping techniques of Tri-Dex make for comfortable waterproof handwear with unprecedented levels of dexterity. The new Alpha SV Glove even won the ISPO Outdoor Award this year. 

Tri-Dex Technology is an innovative construction process that utilizes three-lobed patterns. Each finger and thumb is individually patterned to replicate its unique shape and bend according to its natural grasping movement. This makes for a true anatomical and comfortable fit, while giving unprecedented levels of dexterity for a waterproof glove. Seamless fingertips make it easier for you to perform detailed tasks such as fixing a strap or buckle and you can flex your hands and fingers naturally without resistance. 

 

On top of the unique construction, Arc'teryx has figured out a way to laminate their waterproof membrane directly to the outer shell, leaving the glove super thin and flexible. Most waterproof gloves utilize a separate waterproof layer or bladder inside the glove, adding bulk and making it so you are almost wearing two gloves instead of one. 

Tri-Dex Technology comes in the new Alpha SV Glove and Alpha SV Mitt. The seam-sealed outer shells are made from totally waterproof/breathable 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro Shell. Removable Wind Pro high-loft fleece liners inside match the same Tri-Dex Technology pattern of the shell. The fingers and palms of the high performance gloves are made of Lezanova leather to add durability, especially on belays and rappels. 

The Alpha SV Glove will retail for $275 (not cheap but worth it?!) and will be available this Fall 2010.

Hi Yonadav. Yep I tried them on briefly at the show- you can open and close your hands much easier than normal bulky gloves. I haven't actually used them for anything yet- would love to try them ice climbing or something.
