Kigo Minimalist Footwear

Another brand is banking on the minimalist footwear trend. Kigo has recently released two new styles for the active outdoor enthusiast, the Kigo curv and the Kigo edge. Kigo shoes are stylish enough for everyday wear but sturdy enough for everything from barefoot running to paddle sports.

Kigo has crafted a line of footwear that is lightweight, flexible and breathable, while also being durable and protective. Kigo shoes are constructed with a thin, flexible 1.5mm non-slip outsole, removable contoured EVA insoles and lightweight breathable uppers. Each shoe weighs approximately 4.5 ounces.

The Kigo curv and Kigo edge feature a roomy toe box with protective rubber toe cap. A flexible, breathable upper with four-way stretch fabric and stretch stitching provides a comfortable, athletic fit. A low cut foothole creates a full range of motion for the ankle, reducing the chance of blisters and improving the barefoot feel.

Kigo strives to manufacture their minimalist footwear in an eco-friendly way. Materials include post-consumer uppers and liners, water-based adhesives, non-toxic dyes, water resistant treatments, and recycled and biodegradable packaging.

The Kigo curv is a slim, Mary Jane style shoe that comes in a variety of color schemes, perfect for wearing around town. The Kigo edge is designed for active men and women with complete foot coverage for a fully protected barefoot stride, ideal for trail running, hiking or walking in wet conditions.

Kigo minimalist footwear retails for $69.99 and can be ordered online from the company website.
