New Technical Backpacks From Mile High Mountaineering

Brand new Denver company Mile High Mountaineering is set to launch their first technical backpack line at Outdoor Retailer this August.  With fresh, bright and clean designs, the company hopes the packs will appeal to the younger outdoor enthusiast.

College grads Jeff Pop and Jordan Vecchiarelli started Mile High Mountaineering with the intention of breathing new life into hiking backpacks. In addition to fresh design, the technical backpacks include many innovative features such as a side loading sleeping bag compartment, the Back Hugger internal compression system, fully adjustable harness and a dual-pivoting hip belt.

A long, vertical, water-resistant zipper on the front of the pack gives you easy access to your gear and two large stretch pockets on each side are perfect for stashing those on trail essentials. Multiple gear loops and pockets make for easy organization.

The Mile High Mountaineering line will launch with three different technical backpacks. The 38L Flatiron is the smallest pack in the mix and intended for quick and light backpacking. Weighing 3 lb 6 oz with a removable aluminum frame stay, the pack is light and flexible enough for scrambling.

The 55L Divide is the perfect hiking backpack for weekend or even week-long trips. Equipped with a dual-stay suspension system, the 4 lb 10 oz Divide is incredibly stable. Finally, the 80L Fifty-Two is built for those long haul expeditions. Weighing 5 lb 1 oz, the Fifty-Two technical backpack features a large U shaped zipper that opens the entire front panel like a suitcase, making it easier for you to access all your expedition gear.

No word yet on when these technical backpacks will be commercially available but with almost 900 "Likes" on the Mile High Mountaineering Facebook page, the new line looks to be a hit.
