Hologram Bracelets Exposed As Sham

Picture 27

Looks like the jig is up for Power Balance and other makers of hologram bracelets. Worn by some high profile sports stars, the company claims the bracelets work with your natural energy field to improve your balance, strength, flexibility and overall athletic performance. Well it appears now the Power Balance bracelets have been outed as nothing more than rubber bands with plastic holograms.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) took action after an independent review panel that deals with complaints about breaches with therapeutic goods advertising, found that the Australian Power Balance website violated the code.

According to ACCC Chairman Graeme Samuel, Power Balance has now admitted that there is no credible scientific basis for the claims and therefore no reasonable grounds for making representations about the benefits of the hologram bracelets.

The ACCC has ordered Power Balance Australia to refund all customers who felt they were misled and will take action against retailers that continue to sell the Power Balance bracelets with misleading advertising or packaging.

Power Balance has removed all therapeutic claims from their Australian website but Amazon, the US Power Balance site and other online US retailers are still making these claims. Lets see how long it takes the US and European consumer groups to quickly follow Australia in taking action.
