Klymit’s New Inertia XL Ultra Light Camping Pad

Klymit Inertia XL ultra light camping pad

Taking on board customer feedback, Klymit has followed up their popular Inertia X-Frame ultra light camping pad with a larger version to fit all shapes and sizes. Allowing a little more room to roll around when you sleep, the Inertia XL offers added comfort to your ultra light camping experience.

Even though it is larger, the new Inertia XL still only weighs 16.8 oz (compare that to the new 19 oz Therm-A-Rest All-Season NeoAir) versus the original Inertia X-Frame’s 9.1 oz. The Inertia XL ultra light camping pad uses Klymit’s same loft pocket technology, allowing your sleeping bag to expand into the gaps, increasing warmth over regular camping pads.

For three season use, you can inflate your Inertia XL with your own hot air, but if you want a little extra warmth for winter camping, you can fill the pad up with Klymit’s insulating argon gas. When deflated and rolled up, the ultra light camping pad packs down to the size of a water bottle.

The Inertia XL camping pad is 76 inches long and 25 inches wide, made from a durable 75 denier polyester. At Outdoor Retailer, I was watching people jump up on down on the pads to test the durability.

The Inertia XL will be available for the start of camping season this March and retail for $149.99

I am also super excited about the new women’s specific Kinetic Caldera vest, insulated with Klymit’s NobleTek technology that harnesses the natural insulative properties of argon gas. The Caldera vest will be available starting November 2011 and retail for $224.95.
