The owners of Clif Bar & Company, Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford, also own their own vineyard and farm up in Napa Valley, the Clif Family Winery & Farm. The duo have recently opened the doors to a new tasting room called Velo Vino Napa Valley in St. Helena, where you can grab some Clif Bars and enjoy some of the Clif Family wine.
Gary and Kit are hoping that Velo Vino becomes a significant part of your cycling trip to Napa, a perfect pre and post ride stopping ground. Open from 10 am to 6 pm with even longer hours this summer, you can grab an espresso before heading out on your ride for the day then return to sip some wine in the shade of the sensory garden.
Velo Vino sells maps of local bike routes and will offer up directions to the Clif Family Winery & Farm over on Howell Mountain. You can stock up on gourmet snack mixes, Clif and Luna Bars, Clif Shots and Gels, or choose from an array of Clif or Velo Vino jerseys, as well as a whole selection of Luna Sport bike apparel.
In keeping with Clif Bar's focus on sustainability, the Clif Family Winery recently released a 1.5 L pouch version of their popular Climber wines, both Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. This ultralight, go anywhere design enables you to pair fine wine with all sorts of outdoor adventure.
