A Softshell Jacket Made From Kevlar

Klattermusen Mithril Kevlar softshell jacket

Originally designed to protect motorcyclists during high speeds crashes, Kevlar has now been adapted for use in a softshell jacket by Swedish company Klättermusen. Named after the chainmail shirt given to Frodo in Lord of the Rings, the Mithril Kevlar Jacket is designed to last a lifetime, taking any beating you can throw at it while playing outdoors.

The Mithril Kevlar Jacket features the same construction as Klättermusen’s regular Mithril Jacket but is made entirely from a Kevlar reinforced material. Focusing on longevity and not weight, the Mithril Kevlar Jacket is slighty warmer and adds roughly 200 grams to the softshell jacket, weighing in at 606 grams.

Wind resistant and water repellent, the Kevlar jacket features a high collar with micro fleece neck lining. An angled front zip with internal storm flap and the adjustable, low back hem provide extra protection from the elements. The jacket is soft brushed on the inside for warmth and next to skin comfort.

The Mithril Kevlar Jacket is extremely strong, great for climbing, hiking, mountain biking or any sport where you need extra durability. The sleeves extend over the top of your hands for added protection. Two zippered pockets provide enough storage room for your gadgets or snacks needed for the day.

The Klättermusen Mithral Kevlar Jacket comes in unisex sizes XXS-XXL and retails for €361.
