Minimize Your Bike Transition Time

Specialized S-Works Trivent

For the die-hard triathletes out there, Specialized has designed an elite cycling shoe built to minimize your transition time both on and off the bike. With a unique entry and closure system, the S-Works Trivent cycling shoe will save you precious seconds, the difference between winning an award and simply finishing with the pack.

To help you get through the swim and onto the bike as fast as possible, the S-Works Trivent cycling shoe uses a drawbridge heel that makes it easy to slip your foot straight into your shoe, even on a flying mount. A set of magnets, one on the heel loop and another on the heel itself, hold the drawbridge in the open position until after you get your foot inside.

The Boa L4 closure system eliminates the need for a fiddly velcro strap and lets you tighten your cycling shoe to the precise desired pressure. The Boa steel cable passes through the heel flap, pulling both tips of the heel cup in toward your foot when tightened, actively gripping your heel.

A launch clip entry system uses a rubber band to hold the cycling shoe horizontal on your bike to both keep the back heel open and keep your shoe from spinning while you shove your foot inside. Dismounting your bike is just as easy. Simply pop the Boa dial into the open position and your foot slides straight out.

The smooth inner lining was added specifically for sockless riding, while the Micromatrix upper and open tongue design allow for extra breathability. The FACT 12.0 carbon fiber sole is lightweight yet stiff, enabling better power transfer to your pedals. A 3-bolt cleat pattern fits Shimano SPD-SL, Look, Time, or Speedplay pedals.

All of this time saving technology does not come cheap. The Specialized S-Works Trivent triathlon shoes retail for $400. Worth it for the the bragging rights you will get after you win your next race?
