Bear Grylls Phone – The Kyocera Torque

Bear Grylls Phone

He has his own clothing line, multi-tool, and purpose built set of knives, so it seems only logical that Bear Grylls would have his own smartphone as well (to call in the helicopter of course). The new Kyocera Torque is a rugged 4G Android smartphone that will stand up to anything you or Bear can throw at it.

In order to survive extreme adventures, the Torque complies to military standards for dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure, solar radiation, salt fog, and humidity. You can even immerse your rugged phone for up to 30 minutes in 3 feet or 1 meter of water, meaning if you drop it in the river or more likely the toilet, you won’t need to go running for the Bheestie or the rice bag.

The Torque comes built with textured Android hard keys and a reinforced housing with nonslip Dura-Grip to help keep it firmly in your hand as you run down the trail. The 4-inch touchscreen is impact-resistant for all those times you drop your phone or crash up against a rock.

The smartphone features a 5MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera for all your adventure and selfie shots. You can store up to 32GB of photos on the phone, plus another 50GB of cloud storage available with your unlimited data plan.

For better sound and hearing in noisy environments or outside in a heavy wind, Kyocera has created the Smart Sonic Receiver. This technology uses your ear tissue along with air conduction to deliver sound waves directly to your eardrum.

The Kyocera Torque is available from Sprint in the US. Now, if only Bear Grylls could do something about the lack coverage in the middle of nowhere…
