K2 Route Snow And Bike Helmet

K2 Route Helmet

Weighing only 0.7 lbs, K2’s new Route helmet is the lightest snow certified helmet on the market. Those of you looking for a one helmet quiver, the Route is actually certified for both ski and bike. Lightweight and versatile, you now have no more excuses for wearing a helmet.

The Route is so breathable and lightweight, you can barely tell you are wearing a helmet on your head. Ultra-Cored Technology uses strategically placed vent holes (59 in all) throughout the helmet to offer extra ventilation without compromising on structure or the level of protection offered.

The vent holes help with moisture and temperature management when you are skinning or climbing up, keeping you from wanting to remove your helmet in potentially dangerous terrain. The ear flaps are removable if you want to wear a beanie underneath and the helmet comes with a cover in case of rain or absolutely puking snow conditions.

Removable clips along the sides of the helmet keep your headlamp secure during those dawn patrol runs or early morning/late night rides to and from work. The clips double as side goggle retention straps during the day.

The Route uses the Boa 360 Wrap Fit System for a custom fit to any head shape. The bike and snowsports helmet retails for $150 and will be available for Fall ’14.

Pairing perfectly with the helmet, K2 delivers the new PhotoAntic and PhotoAntic DLX goggles. Oversized styling and a semi-frameless design give you an expanded field of vision. The double-layer spherical lenses feature 100% UVA/B protection with an anti-fog coating.

The PhotoAntic frame is lined with single density foam, while the DLX version uses fleece lined foam with anti-slip silicone beads on the inside of the strap. A slotted nose bridge provides a comfortable lower face fit.

The K2 PhotoAntic goggles retail for an affordable $50 and will also be available for Fall ’14.
