Timbuk2 Vintage Postal Service Messenger Bag

Timbuk2 US Postal Service

Some of my favorite Timbuk2 gear is from the company’s limited edition collections like the Tour de France set and the Mission Cycling packs. The latest limited edition pieces are a result of an upcycling partnership with TerraCycle out of New Jersey. Using vintage US Postal Service mail bags, Timbuk2 has created a range of one of a kind messengers.

TerraCycle is a small New Jersey-based business that makes consumer products from pre- and post-consumer waste. Timbuk2 was excited by their batch of worn and laundered US Postal Service mail bags used in domestic USPS facilities from 1960-1990. TerraCycle hand-picked each mail bag to be used in the collection.

Each nylon mail bag is unique in print and wear, and therefore, each messenger bag Timbuk2 created is one of a kind. The small (14L) and medium sized (21L) messengers feature all the smart organization you have come to expect from Timbuk2, including water bottle pocket, slash pocket for your laptop or documents, front zip organizer, side-entry Napoleon zip pocket, and blinky bike light loop.

Available in natural and vegetable-dyed colorways and produced in limited quantity, these messenger bags are rich in American history and ready to go another 10,000 miles. The US Postal Service Messenger Bags retail for $99-$109, available while supplies last.
