Yucycle Transporter

Yucycle

Interbike starts today as all of the cycling industry is descending upon Las Vegas for the week. I will be at the show looking for those new companies or new technologies coming out in the market so expect lots of bike news this week! If you are there too, give me a shout.

We will start our coverage on a lighter note with the fun new Yucycle. The result of three years development effort and multiple patent awards, the Yucycle, latest invention from brothers Scott and Kurt Comstock, looks like a pimped out tricycle from your childhood. The Yucycle has no handlebars, just safety grips at the front and rear of the quick-release cantilevered seat, freeing up your hands to do other things. The tilted rear wheels increase stability and both pedals and frame fold up for easy carry or storage. The coolest feature has to be the non-slip rear step that allows a passenger to hitch along for the ride.

The Yucycle may take a few tries to learn how to ride- supposedly its all in the hips- but once you get the hang of it you will be in for a lot of fun! The Yucycle will be ready to ship mid November and will retail at $189. I can't wait to try the Slick Banana version though not sure how it would do on San Francisco hills without brakes?

Check out Yucycle this week at Interbike, booth #6162, across from the Demo Area.
