Buy a Cool T-Shirt to Help Protect Our Public Lands

This Land is Our Land

In case you were not aware, as of February 2nd, 2018 several of our national monuments lost their federal protection. This means that these wild, sacred areas can now be drilled, mined, logged, and grazed by private, for-profit corporations. These are public lands that belong to all of us.

Last year, fellow writer and friend Brent Rose started 27Monuments.org to raise awareness about this threat to our public lands where he encouraged people to write in during the public comment period on the impending government action. He received 2.7 million comments. Yes, that’s millions.

But as you know, the government started their rampage by selling off parts of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments anyway. And now there are plenty more of our national monuments and even national parks up for grabs to the highest bidder.

Feeling like he needed to do more, Brent came up with a way to help the rest of us create a kind of public resistance movement. Using a photo he took at Grand Staircase-Escalante, Brent teamed up with Bonfire to create “This Land is Our Land” T-shirts. The shirts comes in a variety of colors, styles, and sizes, and 100 percent of the proceeds go directly to Earthjustice.org, one of the leading organizations using the legal system to stop the gutting of our last wild spaces.

So, head on over to Bonfire and grab yourself a shirt or two.
