Unlikely Gear To Support Our National Parks

Air Wick Yosemite        Rocky Mountain Cabernet

This weekend marks the start of National Park Week as a way to celebrate our national heritage and with entrance fees waived, encourage visitation. Recent underfunding caused the closure of campgrounds, trails to fall into disrepair, and numerous programs to be cut. In the face constant cutbacks, the National Park Foundation continues to look for new ways to help raise cash, support, and awareness for our great parks.

In one of the stranger National Park Foundation partnerships, Air Wick sells air freshener blends that capture the essence of plants and fruit found in our national parks. New for spring, the aroma captured for Yosemite is described as having "notes of wild strawberries fused with soothing mists of mountain rain for a wonderfully sweet and unique scent." Interesting.

Other fragrances in the Air Wick National Park Collection include the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Great Smoky Mountains, and Kaloko-Honokahua, as well as the brand new additions of Channel Islands and Biscayne national parks and Gulf Islands National Seashore. The Air Wick products retail for $0.97 – $9.79, with a portion going to the National Park Foundation.

We previously mentioned the partnership with Adler Fels to create the National Parks Wine Collection. For each bottle of wine you buy, $2.00 will go towards the Foundation, helping to protect and support America's National Parks. Hand Crafted from select lots of premium California varietals, the National Parks Collection now includes a variety of red and white blends for Yosemite and Big Bend, in addition to the Rocky Mountain Cabernet and Mesa Verde Chardonnay.

Although not exactly National Park Foundation related, the new Revisit fashion lifestyle brand donates a whopping 25% of profits to fund our national parks. Co-founded by Jillian DiIorio (former VP, TOMS) and Brent Celek (NFL, Philadelphia Eagles, Tight End), the new brand offers 16 luxury accessories, including a variety of leather luggage and travel pieces, as well my favorite – the arrowhead jewelry.

So throw some National Park air freshener in your car or gear bag, pack a load of National Park wine in your Revisit weekender, and head to your favorite national park next week.
