The Sol is powered by Jetboil's new Thermo-Regulate burner technology that delivers consistent heat output down to 15ºF. With a push button igniter, insulating cozy and heat indicating display, this camping stove is so simple to use.
Jetboil's FluxRing design absorbs heat from the burner and transfers it directly into the liquid inside the cooking vessel. This speeds boiling time and doubles heating efficiency, reducing your overall fuel consumption. The camping stove can boil 1/2 L of water in just over 2 minutes and a single 100 g Jetpower canister will boil up to 12 L of water.
The Sol FluxRing Cooking Cups offer 0.8 L of liquid capacity and feature a drink through lid with pour spout and strainer. The complete Jetboil Sol cooking system includes a pot support and stabilizer tripod, which both fit into the Cooking Cup along with the burner and fuel canister for compact storage.
The Jetboil Sol camping stove also comes in a Titanium version, the Sol Ti, which weighs only 9 oz compared to the regular aluminum version's 10.5 oz. Available for Fall 2011, the Sol will retail for $119.95 and the Sol Ti for $149.95.
Similar to the other Jetboil camping stoves, the Sol is compatible with all Jetboil accessories. One of my favorite new accessories is the Sumo Companion Cup which clips directly onto the base of the Sol and holds up to 1.8 L of liquid. You can store your entire Jetboil Sol cooking system with 100 g of fuel inside the Sumo Companion Cup. The Sumo weighs 14 oz and will retail for $49.95.
