There is no longer a need to suffer through sleeping solo in the backcountry. A brand new edition to the Easton Kilo ultra light tent series, the Kilo 1P one person tent weighs the same, if not less, than a bivy, but affords you so much more comfort.
In order to shed weight, most ultra light tent manufacturers skimp on the tent fabric material. By contrast, Easton still gives you a durable 20-30 denier waterproof nylon ripstop fabric and instead removes weight from the pole system.
The single Easton Carbon ION tent pole utilizes the AirLock connectors that maximize the performance of the carbon pole and eliminate the need for heavier, full-length shock cord. Shorter pole sections mean the tent pole can fold up to fit in your bike panniers, kayak, or take up less room in your ultra light pack.
The Kilo 1P offers a spacious 39 inches of headroom, meaning you can actually sit up inside the one person tent or change clothes without a major struggle. You have plenty of head space to read and won't get claustrophobic if you happen to get pinned down in bad weather.
This double wall, three season, one person tent will add a mere 1 lb 14 oz. to your pack weight. The Kilo 1P inner tent floor is 90 inches long, so will fit even the tallest of people. The 18.8 sq. ft. of floor space provides enough room to store some of your gear inside. An 8 sq. ft. vestibule is integrated into the rain fly for additional gear storage or cooking space.
The Easton Kilo 1P will retail for $350 and be released in time for all your ultra light adventures next summer.
