Have A Biodegradable Picnic This Summer

For the environmentally conscious, Melbourne-based Ecolife International has recently released a Biodegradable Picnic Set to take with you while travelling, camping, hiking, or at an outdoor event. Natural, food safe, and organic, simply bury the dishes in the ground when they have passed their useful life.

The complete picnic set comes with 4 large plates, 4 side plates, 4 bowls, 4 cups, and a 24 piece cutlery set, large enough for the whole family. The entire collection is housed in a lightweight jute bag for ease of carrying.

The Biodegradable Picnic Set is made from a vegetable waste matter composed of corn, starch, bamboo and rice husks. Interestingly, the dishes and utensils are heat resistant, dishwasher safe, and re-usable. The pieces actually have to be buried in the ground to biodegrade naturally.

Starting with over 20 years experience in apparel and textiles, Ecolife International (not the same as a US company with a similar name) was founded back in 2007, by Gal and Sharon Benjamin, to create both environmentally friendly and technically viable products. Ecolife has both a men’s range of adventure and travel apparel, as well as a women’s range of adventure wear branded as Wonder by Ecofile. The company has more recently expanded into biodegradable homewares.

Ecolife adventure apparel and biodegradable homewares are available through Anaconda, Backpacking Light, and FCO New Zealand. The Biodegradable Picnic Set retails for A$59.99 and comes in Green, Orange and Sand colours.
