Start up company Revere wants to fuel your next workout with plants. The company ditched the ingredients you can’t pronounce in favor of real food in a perfectly dosed, on-the-go drink packet — just add water.
Similar in philosophy to Mode but in drink mix form, Revere’s formulas are made from real food — ingredients like sweet potato, tart cherry, pea and rice protein, pomegranate, beetroot, and green tea — that delivers natural benefits to your body. Revere’s drink mixes are vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free and non-GMO. No fillers, no artificial sweeteners, no chemicals.
You get three different formulas depending on your workout for the day — Pre-Energy, Post-Cardio, and Post-Strength. The mix before your workout will deliver energy, stamina, and mental focus. Grab a Post-Strength after your crossfit workout to aid in recovery, help build strength, and tone. After your run, the Post-Cardio can help aid in recovery and muscle repair.
The Post-Cardio formula has a 4:3 carb to protein ratio, while the Post-Strength has a 2:1 protein to carb ratio. Both have tart cherry to reduce soreness and sweet potato to curb hunger. They also include different amounts of rice and pea protein to repair and strengthen your muscles.
Revere operates on a personalized monthly subscription service. You answer a few questions about your body type, goals, and fitness routine — from there, the company will build you a personally tailored drink mix routine and deliver it to your door each month.
Pricing varies on the number of drink mixes you get each month. For example, a 155-pound make who does crossfit once a week and cardio three times a week, with a little extra boost before each cardio workout, will get eight Pre-Energy packets, 12 Post-Cardio packets, and four Post-Strength packets for $60 per month.
The company just raised $2 million in funding so expect to hear more from them over the coming year.
