POC Introduces Ultimate Hot Weather Cycling Helmet

Ventral Air

At the Tour Down Under this week, POC unveiled their latest cycling helmet. With a focus on extreme levels of ventilation, very low weight, and high levels of protection, the Ventral Air is sure to become a new fan favorite for summer riding or those long mountain slogs.

Jonas Sjögren, POC CEO, said about the launch, “The objective is always to use science, mixed with our innovation and Swedish heritage, to optimize a riders safety and performance. The Ventral Air is the latest result of our approach; It is an incredibly safe and lightweight high-performance helmet which has a supreme cooling effect over the whole head, perfect for long mountain climbs, riders who prefer a light and highly ventilated helmet or those who regularly ride in hot climates.”

The Ventral Air builds off the design of the brand’s Octal and Ventral helmets. The result is a structurally optimized helmet which features precise ventilation ports and internal channels to control the air intake and release at both high and low speeds. This not only enhances ventilation but also reduces drag.

The Ventral Air comes in three different sizes and in a variety of matte and gloss colors. The road bike helmet weighs between 230 grams and 270 grams depending on size and certification standard.

POC will start shipping the Ventral Air in March with a retail price of $250.
