Grease Monkey Wipes are individually packed degreasing wipes geared towards cyclists. The citrus based, all natural grease cleaning formula is made to handle heavy duty cleaning, including bike grease and road grime associated with any mid-ride repair. These durable degreasing wipes can easily clean not only skin, but oily chains, dirty frames and for all you parents out there, marker and paint off of small hands.
The idea for Grease Monkey Wipes came when the two founders, Erin Whalen and Tim Stansbury, members of the Austin Duathletes, were stranded in the middle of nowhere, covered in grease, after doing some mid-ride bike repair. Shortly after, they founded Kong Concepts in 2008 to start distributing their degreasing wipes idea and haven't looked back since.
The small, compact, 2.5" x 4" package size, makes it easy to throw a couple of these degreasing wipes, together with some Action Wipes, in your saddle bag or jersey pocket just in case. I can't even tell you how many times my chain has come off mid-ride and I have had to wipe my hands in the grass to try and get some of the grease off after replacing the chain.
The Grease Monkey Wipes are sold are select retailers worldwide and also from their online shop. Follow @MonkeyWipes on Twitter for the 15% off 'tweet' code and Bike Shop Girl has a 15% off code associated with her review. A six pack of the degreasing wipes will cost you $5.99.
I would have to agree with Bike Shop Girl that I would love to see these degreasing wipes come in a "baby wipe" style bulk option. I can see grabbing one when I get home from a ride to clean the inevitable chain mark off my right calf (hey at least I know I have passed Bicycling Magazine's #19/#109 rights of passage) and would much prefer my husband using these than washing his hands with degreaser in the kitchen sink!
