A Lower-Cost GoPro With Wireless Connectivity

GoPro Hero+

In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, GoPro not only drops the price of their user-friendly Hero4 Session but also introduces a new basic but well-connected action camera in the Hero+. At $199.99, the Hero+ adds wireless connectivity and improved specs for around $70 more than the existing Hero.

The addition of WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity means you can use the GoPro app or Smart Remote for controlling your action camera and editing or sharing your photos and videos. The Hero+ captures up to 1080p at 60 fps (30 fps in the Hero) or 720p60 video and 8MP single photos (5MP in the Hero) with Time Lapse (range from 0.5 to 60 seconds) and five photos per second Burst mode.

Other features include QuikCapture where you can power-up and start recording with the press of a single button, HiLight Tag to mark key moments while recording, and SuperView for a ultra wide-angle field of view.

The Hero+ is waterproof up to 40 meters (131 feet) and compatible with GoPro’s vast array of mounts and accessories. The action camera includes a built-in microphone and auto low light to adjust frame rates according to the prevailing light conditions. The device will support a microSD card up to 64GB and the battery will last for 2 hours of filming on average.

In addition to the new Hero+ action camera, the small and simple to use HERO4 Session is now at a more accessible price of $299.99 retail. The Hero+ will start shipping October 4th.
