Yesterday, GoPro dropped three new cameras into their product lineup — the Hero7 Black, Hero7 Silver, and Hero7 White. The flagship Hero7 Black includes key new functionality including image stabilization and live streaming — you no longer need a gimbal to achieve smooth action video to stream on your Facebook page.
Called HyperSmooth, the in-camera technology delivers gimbal-like stabilized video without the use of a motorized gimbal. HyperSmooth continues to work underwater and in high-shock and wind situations. With the Hero7 Black, GoPro is also introducing a new form of video called TimeWarp. TimeWarp Video applies a high-speed, ‘magic-carpet-ride’ effect to your videos, up to 30x speed.
Hero7 Black is the first GoPro to live stream, enabling you to automatically share in real time to Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Vimeo and other platforms internationally. The camera offers 4K60 video and 12MP photos, with 8x slow motion in 1080p240.
All three cameras now let you shoot in portrait mode so you can add videos directly to your Instagram story right from the GoPro app. And the photo timer lets you get in on the action to share with all your followers.
The Hero7 cameras now includes a 2-inch touch display where you can zoom in on your subject using just one finger in order to perfectly frame your shot. When you are connected to the GoPro App, all your photos and videos move automatically from the camera to your phone.
The Silver and Black models include a GPS so you can add performance metrics to your videos — track speed, distance and elevation, then highlight them by adding stickers to videos in the GoPro app.
The action cameras are rugged and waterproof without the need for a separate housing. You can taken them underwater with you down to 33 fee or 10 meters.
The GoPro Hero7 models start at $199 for the Hero7 White and go up to $399 for the Hero7 Black. The cameras are available for pre-order now and will start shipping at the end of the month.
