Whether you commute by bike or ride to the local farmers market, a bike basket can come in handy. But not everyone wants a basket permanently affixed to their bike. Ortlieb took their bomber, waterproof bike bag design skills and applied them to the Uptown bike basket that simply clips on to your handlebars whenever the need arises.
The Uptown bike basket is made from a PVC-free Cordura mixed fabric that is tear-resistant and waterproof. This means the contents of your bag are always well protected regardless the weather.
The basket is compatible with Ortlieb’s KLICKfix system used for all their handlebar bags, so you can quickly get it on and off your bike and even switch between bikes. An integrated aluminum frame ensures the basket holds it shape and feet on the base give it stability when set on the ground.
The Uptown bike basket offers up 17.5 liters of storage space accessed by the large lockable lid. An internal zippered pouch is perfect for storing your wallet and phone as you ride.
The Ortlieb Uptown comes in eight colors and will start shipping in January. The price is set at 80 euros and probably similar in dollars.
