Increasing participation in the outdoors is a major focus for The North Face. Currently in beta, Planet Explore, a new online community that connects people to the outdoors and powered by The North Face, will go live in 5 days time.
Through Planet Explore, The North Face hopes to engage their consumers and brand loyalists to help generate awareness and access to outdoor participation that will develop the next generation of outdoor athletes, conservationists and enthusiasts. The site aggregates a wealth of information, available for people to learn about outdoor activities and events in their local communities. Various outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing and biking, are promoted through news, podcasts, blogs, magazine articles and local publicized events.
The Company has partnered with Non-Profits from across the US, such as Sierra Club and Leave No Trace, that are dedicated to encouraging youth to experience the outdoors and engage in outdoor activities. Registered partners are enabled with their own profile page in order to publicize their events, engage with the community and recruit volunteers.
Sign up for individuals is easy- its all done with one click through Facebook Connect. Yet another way to help people never stop exploring!
