Looks like Jeremy Jones isn't the only athlete branching out on his own. Finnish snowboarding star Antti Autti has teamed up with Nidecker to launch his own line of snowboards, called A+, for 2010. Debuting at SIA and ISPO this winter, the board line will feature a standard model with graphics by Jim Zbinden of YES Snowboard, which debuted during the same shows last winter.
"With Nidecker, an opportunity arose to create something of my own, and have complete say in my boards and how I want them, from graphics to technology. I knew what NDK were doing for YES and I liked the program they had set up," said Antti. He is looking to create an affordable line of unique boards and work with other artists that share his view on life and can add depth to his offering.
In addition to the A+ Nidecker special projects line, Antti will launch exclusive collaboration boards with select artists and musicians to be sold through his own website Anttisworld.com. The site, due to launch the end of this month, will feature regular video updates and blog entries from Antti and his friends as they shred the 09-10 season. Select trips and snowboarding highlights filmed by Flatlight Films will also air exclusively on the site. Antti hopes to connect directly with snowboarders everywhere and give them an insight into his world, his friends and other things he likes to do. Antti sees the snowboard line as just an extension of this vision.
