LUNA Goes From Nutrition Bars To Cycling Clothing

Luna Cycling Clothing

LUNA, makers of women's nutrition bars, is expanding into
women's cycling clothing
with the launch of a subsidiary called LUNA Sport. Started by Kit Crawford and Gary Erickson, co-owners of LUNA Bar, LUNA Sport is a dream come true for them in the next chapter of the LUNA story. LUNA began as a way to nourish bodies and energize the spirits of active women and has now become a way of life.

For the past eight years, LUNA has sponsored a team of women pro mountain bike and multi-sport athletes, called LUNA Chix, that has won hundreds of races, become World Champions, set Ironman records and competed in the Olympics. LUNA was inspired by and involved this team of elite women athletes in both product development and testing in order to refine the perfect women's cycling clothing design.

The LUNA cycling clothing offers refreshingly tasteful designs with beautiful color-blocking and subtle prints. Certain items feature original artwork, including prints from Japanese wood blocks, hand-carved in the early 1800s.

Structured to fit a woman's body, the collection consists of coordinated separates including jackets, tops, bottoms and even accessories such as gloves, arm warmers and knee warmers. The clothing uses recycled and natural-fiber fabrics whenever possible and minimizes wasteful packaging.

"We are committed to creating great looking and fitting, performance-driven clothes from a blank canvas; clothing for women who want to look and feel great on their bikes," said Kit Crawford, co-owner of LUNA Bar.

LUNA Sport will donate 1% of its annual gross revenue towards LUNA's ongoing support of the Breast Cancer Fund. Over the past 10 years, LUNA has donated more than $3 million through direct donations and fund raising programs.

You can buy LUNA Sport women's cycling clothing from the website or from retailers such as
REI
and Realcyclist.
