Timbuk2 CEO Mike Wallenfels invited us to their new headquarters yesterday to share in some celebratory Cinco de Mayo tacos, beer and margaritas as well as check out the new Fall 2010 line. As you may know, Mike joined Timbuk2 from Mountain Hardwear almost 6 months ago now, declaring he wanted to be able to finally commute by bike.
Three times a week, Mike rides his bike the 38 miles from Novato to the Mission and back. His best bike commute time is 2:32 so far. As it is National Bike Month, Timbuk2 has entered three teams in the Bike To Work contest, with one of the teams currently 40th overall for the Bay Area and 6th in midsize companies. Mike himself is 9th overall and the 1st place commuter from Marin. It is great to see that the company is definitely living what it sells!
