The World’s Lightest Women’s Leather GORE-TEX Boot?

inov-8 Roclite 335 GTX

British company Inov-8 claims their new Roclite 335 GTX for Fall 2011 is the world's lightest women's leather GORE-TEX hiking boot. The women's specific version of the Roclite 400 GTX, this mid-cut boot is designed for fast, efficient journeys through the mountains.

The Roclite 335 GTX combines the durability and comfort of Nubuck leather with a waterproof breathable GORE-TEX liner to keep your feet nice and dry. The boot's midsole is rated three arrows on Inov-8's Shoc-Zone level, meaning it delivers mid-level cushioning, generally considered good for training or long distance purposes.

The hiking boot last is specifically designed to fit a woman's narrower heel and foot shape. Lateral and medial posting provides torsional support while remaining neutral. The Roclite 335 GTX weighs 400 grams or 14 oz with a heel to toe differential of 9 mm.

The soles on the Roclite 335 GTX feature Inov-8's exclusive sticky rubber compound, which has been specially developed using climbing rubber technology. This rubber optimizes grip in wet conditions, however the trade off is it wears down quicker.

The Inov-8 Roclite 335 GTX women's hiking boot will retail for $190 and become available in the Fall. The men's version, the Roclite 400 GTX is available now.
