The Ultimate Approach Shoe

Hanwag Badile Low GTX approach shoe

If you are looking to be lighter, faster and more flexible on your alpine climbing adventures this summer, look no further than Hanwag. The new Badile Low GTX is not only a fabulous approach shoe, but can be worn for everything from cragging to rocky, technical alpine routes.

With 90 years of alpine experience behind them, Hanwag's ROCK collection includes high-performance footwear suitable for all types of alpine climbs, including approach hikes, scrambling, technical alpine routes and even some mixed climbing. Production is still done my hand in Bavaria, using traditional methods.

The Badile Low GTX approach shoe features the Vibram Climbing sole, a lightweight, high-friction rubber made for alpine rock climbing and Via Ferratas. Self-cleaning treads ensure you keep good traction, while a non-profile climbing zone under the toes is perfect for more technical climbing.

The approach shoes are constructed with a Cordura, velour leather upper and a Gore-Tex membrane to keep them waterproof. A hand-mounted rubber strip surrounds the lower part of the upper, protecting the leather from scree and rocks, increasing durability. All Hanwag approach shoes can easily be resoled, as the footwear is last constructed, meaning the shaft or upper is worked over the insole.

Both a gender specific and climbing specific last delivers both comfort and stability on even the most technical of terrain. The three-dimensional, anatomic heel box and quick lacing system with LockLoop keep the approach shoes securely on your feet.

The Hanwag Badile Low GTX approach shoes retail for €159.95 and can be purchased from any Hanwag dealer. The approach shoes comes in both a men's and women's version with either red or blue accents.
