Time To Up Your Outdoor Apéritif Game

Stanley Stein

Though we may obsess over every single ounce that goes into our backcountry setup, one thing we will never care about how much it weighs–booze. Whether beer, spirits, or wine are your thing, our favorite brands are creating all types of drinking- and portage vessels to help us up our outdoor apéritif game.

Stanley Vacuum Stein ($35): This 24-ounce vacuum-insulated stein features a latching lid to keep up to two pints of beer cold and carbonated for close to 9 hours. This means you can drink half during your lunch break, then come back to your car to enjoy the rest for après. Theoretically, of course. Available Fall ’16.

Avex Growler

Avex Growler ($55): The double-wall, vacuum-sealed, stainless steel Growler is the newest addition to the AVEX spirits line, made for transporting your favorite craft beer. The Growler features a full-grip handle, durable and flexible TPU tether, soft traction pad bottom, and a powder-coat finish. The wide-mouth insulated lid is interchangeable with all new AVEX products. Available in March.

Kleen Kanteen Tumbler

Klean Kanteen Tumbler ($18): A double-walled, vacuum-insulated, stainless steel tumbler, this drinking vessel is ideal for that before dinner Moscow Mule or sipping whiskey around the campfire. A click-on plastic lid keeps your tipple from spilling when you have had one too many. The Tumbler comes in 8-ounce, 16-ounce, and 20-ounce sizes.

Yeti Hopper 40

YETI Hopper 40 ($400): Made for extra-large loads, the new Hopper 40 is a party in soft-sided cooler form. It features the same leakproof zipper, ice-for-days insulation, and tough-as-nails construction as the smaller Hopper coolers but delivers a whopping 10-gallon capacity. Constructed out of 840-denier DryHide fabric, the Hopper’s ColdCell Insulation (1-inch on the sides and 1.5-inches on the bottom) provides a deep and lasting chill. Available this spring.

Igloo Playmate

Igloo Playmate ($17-$40): My personal road trip favorite–the Playmate is the ultimate cooler for those that like to kick it old school. With it’s signature tent top shape and push button lock system, the classic cooler will hold between 6 and 30 cans for your day at the beach or picnic in the park. Available now.
