The Rumpl Puffe- Heated Outdoor Blanket

Rumpl Puffe-

The original Rumpl took the world by storm when it was introduced a few years ago and now the new heated version appears set to do the same. This time around, Rumpl teamed up with two other outdoor brands — Power Practical and Ravean — to created a battery heated version of the popular outdoor blanket.

The Rumpl Puffe- is a portable battery-powered heated blanket. It warms up within seconds, is durable, water-resistant, machine washable, and extremely lightweight.

The outer shell of the Puffe- is made from a DWR-treated 20-denier ripstop nylon. You can choose from two fill options –down or synthetic. Both are rated to 45 degrees without the heating element turned on.

The Puffe- warms up in seconds using the Ravean carbon heating system. All wiring is buried between two ‘sandwiched’ baffle constructions rendering the heating system completely unnoticeable. There are 3 different heat settings (low, med, high) which add up to 30-degrees of warmth.

The heating system runs off a 12V Power Practical battery. The battery can be fully recharged in 90 minutes and can charge your mobile devices up to 4 times. It can run the blanket for 10 hours on the low-heat setting, 6 hours on medium-heat, and 4 hours on high-heat. The battery hides in a concealed zipper pocket in the corner of the blanket.

Both blankets measure 54″x80″ when laid flat. The down version weighs just 2.1 pounds and compresses into a stuff sack that measures 6″x12″, while the synthetic version weighs 3.4 pounds  and packs down to 8″x16″.

The heated outdoor blanket trifecta are running a Kickstarter campaign to take pre-orders for the Rumpl Puffe-. Prices range from $199 for the synthetic version to $299 for the down version. You can also order the Power Practical battery itself for $40. Delivery is not expected until July 2017 — too bad they won’t have these in time for winter.
