Knit uppers are all the rage at the moment, with shoes from Nike to Adidas flying off the shelves. KEEN decided to get in on the action but with a slightly different twist — instead of a full knit upper, they incorporated knit into their iconic water shoe style. Lightweight, and moisture-wicking, these sandals deliver a sock-like fit that feels like second skin on your feet.
Evofit offers 4-way dynamic stretch that moves fluidly and breathes with your skin, protecting you from scrapes and scratches without blister-causing friction. Using a variable density throughout the knit, the upper gives you more structure or flexibility based on the natural mechanics of your foot. TPU reinforcements are added for extra durability in key zones like over your ankle bone.
The rubber outsole features multi-directional lugs with razor siping to give you traction both in and out of the water. TPU inserts in the PU midsole give you extra stability with a heightened ground-feel for agility across any terrain — not to mention out-of-the-box comfort. The removable footbed is anatomically engineered to deliver extra arch support and cradle the natural contours of your foot.
Assembled in Portland, the Evofit use a PFC-free durable water repellent treatment to help with water- and dirt-resistance and also employ a microbe-based natural odor control technology to keep your shoes stink-free. KEEN adapted their classic bungee closure system to provide a bit more security around the ankle without cutting down on flexibility.
As with all KEEN water sandals, the Evofit are machine washable — simply use a small amount of detergent, wash on gentle cycle, and air dry.
The KEEN Evofit sandals retails for $130 and are available for both men and women in a variety of colors. You can order them now from the KEEN website, and they will be more widely available next year.
