Hilleberg Launches Lightweight Trekking Pole Tent

Hilleberg Anaris

Best known for their bomber four season tents that will stand up to anything the weather can throw at them, Hilleberg gets set to release a new trekking pole tent for Spring 2020. The 2-person Anaris is a very roomy yet lightweight ridge tent, built to pitch with trekking poles or by suspending the ridge ends from trees or other supports — perfect for thru-hikers or lightweight backpackers.

Built for 3-season use, the Anaris weighs just 3 pounds 1 ounce in terms of packed weight and offers 28-square-feet of inner tent area with 43 inches of headroom. You get a further 9.7-square-feet of space in each of the two vestibules for storing gear.

Both inner tent entrance walls, including the doors, are no-see-um mesh, which, along with the catenary patterning on the outer tent walls ensure excellent full-time airflow. Both doors on both vestibules can be partially or fully rolled away, allowing even more venting options, and either or both of the Anaris’s sides can be fully rolled up.

Like all Hilleberg tents, the Anaris has linked inner and outer tents, allowing either simultaneous pitching or separate use. Used on its own, the outer tent becomes a very lightweight 1 pound 7 ounce yet highly functional tarp.

The Hilleberg Anaris will retail for 705 euros and roughly the same in dollars. While the price and weight may seem like a lot for a trekking pole tent, you can be sure Hilleberg built the tent to last for many years of use.
