New Lightweight Backpacking Tents From Klymit

Klymit Maxfield

On display for a sneak peek at Outdoor Retailer earlier this summer, the new lightweight backpacking tents from Klymit are now ready to ship. The Maxfield 2 and Maxfield 4 offer the right balance of comfortable living space and packed weight, with plenty of features to keep you organized on the trail.

Both three season tents are made from a 15-denier sil-nylon ripstop fabric and 20-denier no-see-um mesh with a 40-denier floor for added durability. A single pole structure design makes them super quick and easy to pitch.

In place of a traditional stuff sack, Klymit designed a roll up tarp that keeps everything off the ground as you set up and tear down the tent each day. Both tents are fast fly ready with the purchase of the footprint accessory.

The Maxfield 2 ($399.95) has a trail weight of 3 pounds 12 ounces and offers up 29.3 square feet of floor space with a 42-inch peak height. The single front vestibule gives you an additional 14 square feet of storage space.

The Maxfield 4 ($499.95) has a trail weight of 5 pounds 1 ounce and offers up 53 square feet of floor space with a 44.5-inch peak height. The dual door entry provides an additional 18.6 square feet of storage space in the vestibules along with a front and rear vestibule that can be accessed from inside the tents.

Both tents feature internal mesh pockets for gear organization at night. And three ventilation ports help to maximize airflow and cut down on condensation.

Both the Maxfield 2 and Maxfield 4 backpacking tents are available now from the Klymit website.
